Eagle Lake is a cozy little bedroom community just 2 miles East of Mankato and received its name from the neighboring lake, which had been so named by the U.S. land surveyors because many bald eagles had nests in high trees on the lakeshore.

With over 1800 residents and continually growing with new development and neighborhoods, Eagle Lake is a part of Mankato School District 77. The community is well known for its wonderful Elementary School, parks, and outdoor skating rink.
